Angelica Béchamel

Big Data Pizza, also known by the acronym BDP, is a restaurant chain of pizzerias founded and run by Angelica Béchamel that appears in Chapter 4. It was one of the sponsors for Pizza News Network (PNN).

Appearance[]

BDP's logo design features a piece of pepperoni pizza with circuit lines running across the cheese. It is set at an angle over a blue cloud graphic with more circuit lines. If the logo is shown with a background, the background is dark blue and patterned with 0s and 1s meant to represent machine language.

History[]

BDP was founded by Béchamel several years following her initial restaurant's closing. The pizza chain gained traction after Béchamel created a program meant to analyze pizzas and craft new recipes based on the gathered data. The original algorithm, however, was later tweaked to steal recipes.

Plot[]

In Chapter 4, BDP's new headquarters move into the lot across the street from you. The company has been making some noise in the stock market, and there is no shortage of customers waiting in line to try the pizza. Béchamel has carefully crafted a plan to keep BDP on top.

Suspecting something is amiss, the World Pizza Association (WPA) gets evidence from its undercover agent of BDP logs filled with recipes and the names of the restaurants that have been shutting down.

With the fluctuating market prices and numerous pizzerias closing, it is eventually found out that BDP/Béchamel has been stealing recipes from other restaurants. If you tell the WPA to deal with BDP/Béchamel quietly and not alert the public, they will still face consequences: BDP will be banned from expanding and have its assets frozen, and the Supreme Pizza Court will fine the company for its anticompetitive practice, which forces BDP to divest the farms it bought previously. If BDP was investigated and the WPA takes its crimes to the public, the company will be shut down for good. If Béchamel was investigated and you choose to let the WPA reveal what she did, she will be fired from BDP and Elliot St. Claire will take her place as CEO.
