Captain Salame wears a feathered hat and a blue-and-white-striped sailor's outfit, along with a coat. He has brown curly hair.
His outfit is very similar to that of Christopher Columbus's.

If you choose "What?", Captain Salame will mention that he is from Genoa, Italy. He refers to the geographic location of your pizzeria as the "New World".
When you serve him a pepperoni pizza, he will say that the pizza is so good that he'd give you all three of his ships for it.

- Captain Salame has been renamed twice.
- He was originally Christopher Columbus. Then, he got renamed to Captain Sparrow. He is now called Captain Salame.
- His image files list him as "Columbus."
- Even though the character was previously named Captain Sparrow, the things he states are more accurate to Christoper Columbus's history rather than Captain Jack Sparrow's (from the Pirates of the Carribean movie series), after whom he is named. This is because he was formerly named Columbus and the name change could possibly happen because of the outrage surrounding the historical figure that has surfaced in recent times. Columbus' design could probably conflict with the overall diverse and inclusive approach that the game has taken with character designs.
- Salame states that he comes from Genoa, Italy, the same place where Columbus was born.
- The three ships that "Salame" mentions are references to Columbus' ships: La Santa María, Niña, and the Pinta.
- Some of Salame's dialogue can be found in videos like this one.
- Salame refers to the location of your pizzeria as the "New World." Thus, it is likely that the game takes place in the Americas.
