In the oldest versions, when you entered bankruptcy, the player had to buy money to keep playing the game. If you choose to close the shop, then a PNN broadcast comes up explaining the closure of your shop. When the broadcast ends, a pizza that is feeling sad shows up and drops to the ground while some credits play. After the credits end, the you had to start over from the beginning.
If you choose to sell your shop to Angelica Béchamel, the day will end immediately, with you earning Pizza Funds. However, the in-game day restart and you will not have to restart from the beginning.
