Good Pizza, Great Pizza is a business simulation game created by TapBlaze. It was released for iOS on December 2, 2014, for Android in February 2015, on the Amazon app store in June 2016, and for Steam on June 5, 2018. It was ported to the Nintendo Switch on September 3, 2020. The game follows you as the owner of the new Pizza shop in town.

History[]

Created to be a companion app to TapBlaze's 2012 debut game, My Pizza Shop, Good Pizza, Great Pizza was released at the end of 2014. The game was on the right track, but it needed two more years of fine-tuning to bring everything together. The team used what they learned from past games to create its storyline, resulting in a narrative that grabbed players' attention from the start. The original artist who worked on game had four years of experience working at Costco Pizza,[1] bringing interesting stories and experiences into the gameplay.[2]

Gameplay[]

Each day starts with you taking your customers' orders at the counter, after which you are sent to the kitchen to then make the pizza exactly as described - ranging from just plain bread to all toppings you could ever imagine on a tasty pizza. The day ends with a summary of your gross income, supplies used, and the net profit. Finally, clicking "Next" gives you the option to upgrade your shop's services, after which a new day starts again.

Reception[]

Good Pizza, Great Pizza has been downloaded over 200 million times and praised for its charming art style, diverse cast of characters, and realistic gameplay. It has a 4.7/5 star rating on the App Store and Google Play, and a 9/10 rating on Steam.

By Fall 2024, nearly a decade after its initial release, Good Pizza, Great Pizza had garnered over US$5 million in revenue, with nearly half of its earnings coming from the United States.[3]
