The Stewards of Sacred Ingredients, also known as saucesayers, appear in Chapter 2 as a six-member secret society. Their modern day operations include working as a supplier for local businesses, focusing on locally sourced and organic products.
Appearance[]
The Stewards' basic uniform is a long hooded cloak that appears to be sleeveless. The only member who does not wear a cloak is the third Steward. Each member wears a circular gold medallion around their neck bearing a figurative number represented by dots which uniquely identifies them.
History[]
Not much is known about the history of their organization, but the Stewards of Sacred Ingredients have at least been around since Peppertiti's reign as their scrolls were unearthed alongside her tomb.
Plot[]
In Chapter 2, the Stewards are first mentioned as one of the suppliers being threatened by the Deep Dish Gang. When they finally reveal themselves, they mention their organization has recently moved in across the street. Hearing of your ovenist skills, they intend to put them to the test in search of the elusive "transcendent za" over the span of several trials. At the end of this interaction, they give you the Wide Counter upgrade for free.
Each saucesayer will show up on festival days over the next several weeks to test you, expecting you to figure out the riddle of their orders. If completed correctly, they will offer locally sourced and organic ingredients as a reward. During the last Steward's visit, he only warns you to prepare for Peppertiti's challenge, although he does not provide any details about what it will entail and says if you are the "Chosen One," you will be able to figure it out.
Following the conclusion to Peppertiti's challenge and the fulfillment of the prophecy, the Steward of Sacred Ingredients' headquarters will remain until the start of Chapter 3.
