This is a walkthrough for Chapter 1 in Good Pizza, Great Pizza.
In this chapter, the story begins after opening up a new pizzeria in the city. You will meet Alicante, the main antagonist and owner of the rival pizzeria across the street, Homeless Buddy, Plant Lady, Rufus Goldworthy and Veggie Man.
New ingredients introduced during the tutorial are Dough, Tomato Sauce, Cheese, Pepperoni and Eggplant, all of which can be unlocked for free. The remaining chapter ingredients, Sausage, Mushroom, Olive, Onion and Bell Pepper, must be purchased with Pizza Funds.
New items introduced in this chapter are the MyPad.
Festivals[]
There are four topping festivals scheduled in this chapter which will appear every 5 in-game days starting on Day 4. With each festival, there is a higher chance of customers ordering pizzas with certain toppings.
- National Half Day (Day 4): Use the free ingredients unlocked on Day 1.
- Sausage Festival (Day 9): Purchase Sausage for 20
after Day 3. - Mushroom Ceremony (Day 14): Purchase Mushroom for 35 after Day 5.
- "O" Festival (Day 19): Purchase Olive for 50 after Day 8 and Onion for 70
after Day 11.
Main story[]
Alicante[]
Alicante can be defeated with the help of Homeless Buddy, a homeless man whom you meet on Day 3. He will come to the pizzeria asking for food:
Please.. I'm very hungry..
He visits six times throughout the chapter. There are no ingredient requirements for his orders, so you can make him any pizza each time he visits. You'll need to help him every time he comes to the shop if you want to defeat Alicante at the end of the chapter, receive a 100 reward from him and complete the Bear Buddy achievement for 1 
. You'll need to help him and the other homeless character, Rufus Goldworthy, at least once to complete the Have a Heart, Buddy achievement for 1 . Please note that the homeless man will not return in Chapter 2 unless you get his help in defeating Alicante.
If you continue to help him each time he visits, he'll eventually aid you in defeating Alicante on Day 21.

Eggplant[]
To unlock Eggplant, accept the offer from Plant Lady when she visits the pizzeria on Day 4:
I don't have any money, but I'll give you a special gift in exchange for a pizza on the house.
Make her any pizza and she'll give you a potted plant. Water it every day for four days and on Day 8 she will return to the pizzeria again. Water the potted plant and pick the fruit, unlocking Eggplant in the kitchen. Make her an eggplant pizza,[1] a cheese pizza with Eggplant on it.
Eggplant has a gauge that depletes over time. To replenish its stock, it'll need to be watered daily and harvested when the fruit is ready to pick.
Rufus Goldworthy[]
On Day 6, another homeless man will come to the pizzeria:
My life is a mess right now, and I don't have money to feed myself.. Could you help me?
He visits two times throughout the chapter. You'll need to help him and the other homeless man at least once to complete the Have a Heart, Buddy achievement. If you help him every time he comes to the shop, you'll receive a 50 reward from him near the end of the chapter. Similar to the other homeless character, you can make him any pizza as there are no requirements for his order. Please note that Rufus Goldworthy will still show up in Chapter 2 even if you do not help him in this chapter.
Veggie Man[]
On Days 9, 13 and 18, Veggie Man will visit the pizzeria:
Can I get a vegetarian pizza, please?
To get the final 50 bonus from him on Day 18, you'll need to accept his request each time he visits and make him a vegetarian pizza,[2] a cheese pizza with any non-meat toppings you have.
Conclusion[]
Day 21 marks the end of the chapter, with Chapter 2 triggering on Day 22. You can still progress to Chapter 2 even if you haven't purchased all the Chapter 1 ingredients or defeated Alicante.
If you don't have all the Chapter 1 ingredients by Day 24, Alicante will offer to pay for any ingredients you are missing on the condition you display a poster of him in the front window of the pizzeria. According to players, this poster cannot be removed.
